“So how does your fire damage cleanup in Los Angeles work?” “How do you go about restoring my home after a fire?” Those are some of the questions that we’re often asked. Every home is different. Every fire is different. That said, we draw upon our experience to figure out the best way to return your home to its pre-loss state. Below are some of the steps that we take. They might not be the exact same for every home, nor will they be necessarily in the same order. But, no matter the home or situation, we do everything in our power to restore your home to the way it was as much as we can.
KEEPING THE DAMAGE TO A MINIMUM
While we can do quite a bit here at Scope Environmental, we aren’t firefighters. We don’t stop the fire in its tracks. However, after the fire has been subdued, we can come to your property and figure out the extent of the damage. Then, we can make sure that it stops spreading. The truth is that, even after the fire is long gone, the damage to your home could continue. Mold, mildew, corrosion – those are all concerns even once the embers have cooled. Once we’ve looked at your property, we can get to right to work in minimizing or even eliminating them.
Getting Out the Water and Wet Surfaces
If you needed to call the fire department to put out your fire, odds are there’s going to be excess water. When the firefighters arrive, their job is to put the fire out. Then, it’s our job to do something about the water. Standing water, as it’s called, can be a real problem. Soaking into floors, the walls, and even in some cases the subflooring, it can cause extensive structural damage (to say nothing of mold, mildew, and the like). Where necessary, we have the kinds of air movers and commercial dehumidifiers to get that water out entirely.
Deodorizing Fire Damage Cleanup in Los Angeles
Fire damages properties for any number of reasons. One that people often don’t think about: smoke and soot. They can cause damage all their own. Cleaning and deodorizing are a major part of what we do. Keep in mind: here at Scope Environmental, our work is not janitorial. We’re not there just to clean the floors or something. Rather, we deep clean. This is an extensive process that can genuinely restore your property.
Restoration
The above covers very broad strokes of how our fire damage restoration works. As of this writing, Southern California is entering its fire season. Late summer and early fall can lead to massive fires all over the area. Since the beginning, we’ve been there to help people to come back after a fire. When a fire damages your property, it’s natural to feel like there’s nothing you can do. Most of our clients are amazed by what we’re able to restore. Call us any time at (855) 961-2660.
